A welcome from our Chair and our CEO

Thank you for your interest in joining the bpha Board.

This is an exciting opportunity to help steer a successful organisation, that is proud to be driven by its social heart and customer ethos. Our Board plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of bpha and making a positive difference for local people.

Over recent years bpha has delivered on its commitments to customers and, as a financially robust organisation, remains very optimistic about the future. Our new Board members will enhance our effective leadership, strong financial planning, good governance and the delivery of a clear strategy.

Our Board oversees our vision to deliver ‘Quality Homes. Connected Communities’ for customers in our 20,000 homes between Oxford and Cambridge. Our Board members draw on their experience, values and expertise to help deliver bpha’s following strategic commitments:

  • Deliver quality and value to customers.
  • Create a sustainable future.
  • Put people at the heart of bpha.
  • Help make places and build local communities.

As a bpha Board member we will encourage your unique perspective and experiences to contribute to inclusive and effective policies and practices. We can offer significant personal and professional growth, while you will help make a tangible difference to people’s lives.

We have two specific Board member vacancies, each of which will chair a bpha Committee:

Customer Experience Committee Chair

Working alongside our new customer-led improvement panel, you will chair the Customer Experience Committee to help ensure we continue to improve our services by prioritising engagement and the customer voice. Your customer and business expertise, aligned with your strong customer ethos, will help ensure we optimise customer data and have a strong improvement strategy in place.  The Social Housing Regulator is putting new emphasis on customer engagement, which bpha very much welcomes, and which chimes with our social ethos.

Development and Assets Committee Chair

Your asset management and development expertise will help bpha ensure the ongoing delivery of desperately needed affordable and social homes across our operating area. Helping guide strategic direction, including regeneration, you will be a positive influence on sustainable development and providing diverse housing options for local people.

Next steps

We hope you pursue your interest in being an integral part of bpha’s mission to enhance the lives of those we serve.

This recruitment pack further outlines the responsibilities, skills, and qualities we are looking for in prospective Board members.

We hope to meet you soon.
